खल्वाटः

खल्वाटःकश्चिदाटाविरतमनुदिनं ह्यन्विषन् भेषजं तत्

येन स्वस्मिन् विशाले स्फुरदरुणमरौ मस्तके भासमाने ।

किञ्चिद्वस्त्वङ्गनानामभिमतमनिशं केशनाम प्ररोहे-

दित्याशानुन्नचित्तो विधिलिखितमहो व्यर्थमेवास्य कृत्यम् ॥ 

The bald-headed

A certain bald-headed person wandered daily continuously in search of medicine with the help of which that special object called "hair" always admired by ladies may grow on his broad pate, a sparkling red desert. Alas, as fate would have it, his effort was just a failure.

करोना

तदाभूत् पूर्वाह्ने जननिबिडपार्श्वो नृपपथः

चतुष्चक्रैर्व्याप्तः सततघनघंटारवकरैः ।

इदानीं सुप्तः किं नहि भयजमूर्छाप्रतिहतः

करोनाभीतोऽसौ गतरवनिशीथभ्रमकरः ॥

In the forenoon, then, the King's Avenue was dense with people in the sidewalks and the carriage way was full of 4-wheelers sounding their horns continuously. Now has it gone to sleep? No, it has swooned frightened by Carona and brings an illusion of a noise free midnight.

सूर्यं ग्रहांश्च  समतीत्य दिशो दिदृक्षुः

विद्युज्जवाद्यदि  गमिष्यसि नाकलोकान्  ।

मन्ये  निवृत्तिसमये  भणितं  भवेत्ते

वह्निस्फुलिङ्ग इव भानुरयं चकास्ति  ॥

जनानामस्मिता माया जगत्यस्मिन्निरर्थके ।

हन्तेयं भणितिश्चापि कल्पिता मायया तया ॥

“In this meaningless world, man’s consciousness is an illusion.”

“Alas! even this statement is generated from that illusion.”

यावदेति न भुवोऽयमासुरोऽपूर्वभीकरगदोऽथ कोविदः ।

तावदुल्बणमनोजबाधितां प्रार्थये नतशिराः न मां स्पृश ॥१ ॥

इत्थमश्रुपतनैस्तिरोहिते भाषिते मदनपीडिते प्रिये ।

किं किमापतितमित्यथाऽनयोः काव्यकोविदगिरामगोचरम् ॥२ ॥

"As long as this demonic frightening  Kovid disease does not go away from this world, dear, I pray with my head bowed, do not touch me who is tormented by the Cupid." When she told her love lorn sweetheart thus with her tears hiding him, what happened to them is beyond the words of the poet.

जीवन्मुक्तो बाष्पनिभः सर्वं व्याप्नोति लीलया ।

क्वथ्यमानाम्बुसङ्काशो  मुक्तिमार्गानुगो मुनिः ॥ ५ ॥

A realized soul like steam easily pervades everything. A sage who is on the road to realization is like boiling water (which is in the process of becoming steam).
